While testing paludis I ran into the problem that configure wasn't called with "--libdir=/usr/lib64" (see URL), so the libs ended up in /usr/lib/ while compiling.

The problem is that our profiles do not set ABI=ppc64 (or ABI=${DEFAULT_ABI} as seen in amd64/vserver profiles).

Someone with more knowledge about profiles should go out and fix this.

Corsair .. could you try this with the 2007.1 64bit user space ... I believe i have commited a fix which should address this. I don't have paludis installed however  and the machine I have 2007.1 on right now is currently doing some very long builds.

sorry, tgall. still not working. I currently "export ABI=ppc64" in /etc/paludis/bashrc to make paludis work correctly on ppc64. paludis adds --libdir=/usr/lib64 then.

a quick note: bug is still valid for 2008.0 profiles

this seems to be fixed in 2008.0 profiles now! Thanks wolf31o2!!
