Description Juan José Gutiérrez de Quevedo 2007-04-21 15:12:21 UTC
this is an ebuild for fakehermes' last release.

fakehermes is a fake smtp server that will log all attempts at delivery along with how it was sent. it's useful as a secondary smtp server, as spammers will try to deliver mail to secondary smtp servers to avoid spam filters. project is at http://www.hermes-project.com/pages/fakehermes

Reproducible: Always

Not mailwrapper compatible.

why should it be? it's not a real smtp server, it only fakes it. you cannot send mail through it, so mailwrapper makes no sense

Upstream still exists but there hasn't been a new release of fakehermes since the aforementioned 0.95, i.e. almost 10 years. This is not necessarily a problem though, given it is very simple by design.

Is there still any user interest in this ebuild?

Come to think of it, I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to achieve very similar functionality using something already in Portage - smtp-sink from mail-mta/postfix, for instance?

In light of lack of comments for 4 months now, I assume there is indeed no user demand for this package. Closing the bug.
