Description maduser 2007-04-21 14:25:24 UTC
mythweb-0.21_pre13285 is marked as stable. But in Changelog stands: Adding experimental trunk ebuild. MythTv 0.21 schould not be stable now.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Dylan 2007-04-21 16:43:16 UTC
The ebuild also fails for many users, as there is nothing to unpack:
!!! ERROR: www-apps/mythweb-0.21_pre13285 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1614:   Called dyn_unpack
  ebuild.sh, line 751:   Called qa_call 'src_unpack'
  environment, line 3594:   Called src_unpack
  mythweb-0.21_pre13285.ebuild, line 26:   Called unpack
  ebuild.sh, line 389:   Called die

!!! Nothing passed to the 'unpack' command
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.
!!! A complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/www-apps/mythweb-0.21_pre13285/temp/build.log'.

It is hard masked. Don't unmask it.

Mythweb 0.21 ISN'T hardmasked; neither is mythtv 0.21

Furthermore, in the ebuild itself its marked as STABLE for x86, AMD64 and PPC....

This bug: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175510 is of course, directly related to this as mythtv 0.21 isn't stable (its ~arch) but mythweb is, and mythweb doesn't have a depend mythtv >=0.21

I'm not entirely sure if its simply a keywording error as I haven't had time to figure out why my ~x86 system can't pull mythtv 0.21 in. As I showed earlier theres no mention of it in /usr/portage/profile/package.mask; however manually calling in 0.21 gets me this:

========================

hammond ~ # emerge -av =media-tv/mythtv-0.21_pre13285

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies -
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "=media-tv/mythtv-0.21_pre13285" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- media-tv/mythtv-0.21_pre13285 (masked by: package.mask)
# Doug Goldstein <cardoe@gentoo.org> (5 Mar 2007)
# experimental SVN to quell the masses
# complain upstream if something is broken

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
=================

Is there another mask file that the devs are using now that I'm unaware of? I've poked in /usr/portage/profiles/*MYPROFILE* and can't come up with any mask file that contains the above (though there are a few .mask files there).

reopening for proper resolution

The package.mask entry was fixed so it's really masked now.
