When user has lprng installed and decides to install cups (actually, cups was picked up automatically through dependencies in my case), then user ends up with lprng installed but /usr/bin/lp, /usr/bin/lpr overwritten by binaries of same name from cups. Unfortunately, the new /usr/bin/lp* programs complain that they cannot contact server ... although /usr/sbin/lprng is running ... it's a nightmare. Solution? Compile cups with configure option not to build these or uninstall lprng first. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
filename conflicts should be detected, before qmerge stage. i've come accross problem w/ /usr/bin/scan being used by net-mail/nmh and media-video/linuxtv-dvb .
will have a look .. sorry for the delay there was a problem with the mail alias so i didn't get the Bugzilla mails
shouldn't happend, both cups and lrnpg provide virtual/lpr and have a !virtual/lpr in depend.
Sorry for my ignorance, what does that mean?
that means that cups and lrnpg can't be isntalled at the same time
