Description Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-13 12:14:07 UTC
the ebuild says that glew is GPL-2. However the tarball includes a different license in license.txt and also offers LGPL as an alternative in COPYING.txt
Comment 1 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-13 23:03:43 UTC
The licensing is derived from http://glew.sourceforge.net/credits.html. And the ebuild states that more licenses than GPL-2 cover the code.

I also don't see license.txt or COPYING.txt in the tarball...
Comment 2 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-14 13:04:46 UTC
Apologies, I got confused. The package in question is actually media-libs/ftgl. Is this something you take care of as well?
Comment 3 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-14 16:29:05 UTC
That looks like Games/Seemant's shtick.
Comment 4 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-18 00:23:23 UTC
So is LGPL acceptable or should we list both licenses?
Comment 5 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-27 06:52:44 UTC
it's lgpl-2 unless you want to work something out with the author. It shouldn't have been gpl-2 though so I changed that in portage.
