Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2007-04-11 11:46:16 UTC
If I boot my stable Gentoo system with the kernel command line option "init 2" and login into the konsole and type in "init 3" this works fine, if /etc/init.d/xdm is not in the default runlevel.

Instead if xdm is in that level, then after "$>init 3" nothing happens. When I execute a command like "ls" or "date" or something similar, exactly 1 next service is started. For each subsequent service I have to execute a command like "date", "ls" or similar. If I hit the ENTER key w/o any command this action doesn't bring up the next service.

Fixed in our svn repo for baselayout-2
baselayout-1 users will need to disable interactive startup in /etc/conf.d/rc
