This happen, if system locale is KOI8-R, hab charset=cp1251, but in linuxdcpp settings set "system default" for each hub and for user profile. Approximately, settings of charset in linuxdcpp may sometimes undertakes.
Please try with a newer version. The text conversion code has been updated since your version. If you find that the bug is still present please reemerge with the "debug" use flag and attach a backtrace.
Upgrade to the latest version and if it still occurs, reopen.
