Dawid Węgliński aka 'cla' will start gentoo-artwork, subproject of -desktop. I'm his current mentor, quiz should reach recruiters in a few minutes. He's from Kłodzko, Poland. Reproducible: Always
Sending quizes in progress :) Adress i used to use oficially is dawid.weglinski@gmail.com
I will be your recruiter. It seems you already send your first quiz so just ping me on IRC and we will get it reviewed. In the mean while reading the devmanual doesn't hurt: http://devmanual.gentoo.org/
22:18 <Betelgeuse> So in general I think you have a lot of work to do before I can approve those quizes. 22:19 <Betelgeuse> But I need to talk with reb to see how well he looked at your answers. 22:19 <cla> in fact 22:20 <cla> we looked only the first one 22:20 <cla> i mean we discused it 22:20 <Betelgeuse> 19:52 <Betelgeuse> The second quiz is also approved by your mentor right? 22:20 <Betelgeuse> 19:53 <cla> yes, it is So cla needs to brush his answers with you reb before I will take a look at his quizzes again.
Hmm. I thought I checked this when I assigned myself this bug but reb hasn't been a Gentoo developer for 6 months which is the needed time before you can mentor new people in. betelgeuse@woodpecker ~ $ perl_ldap -s reb | grep gentooJoin gentooJoin: 24 January 2006
(In reply to comment #4) > > betelgeuse@woodpecker ~ $ perl_ldap -s reb | grep gentooJoin > gentooJoin: 24 January 2006 > Yeah my last check was right. I still live in 2006 it seems... Sorry about the noise.
I don't want to explain this situation, but it looks not good for me, so: i attached end-quiz by accident, it was not discussed with my mentor. But i thought if i attached this quiz i will try to answer on my own. Sory for mess. I am going to the University this weekend and be back monday morning. Please be patient, I will be ready on days.
Ok cla is not ready for gentoo-x86. He doesn't have that much experience in working with ebuilds and the theoretical knowledge doesn't cut it either. I am happy to give him staff access to work on the artwork and we can reconsider gentoo-x86 access when we has more experience with ebuilds.
Staff access setup: LDAP userinfo.xml -core bugzilla IRC-cloak announcement #gentoo-dev channel access What you need to do: - subscribe to mailing lists with @gentoo.org address - request forum status bump from from amne or tomk (if you have a forums account) - send yourself mail to create .maildir - add yourself to mail aliases ( like java@gentoo.org ) see /var/mail/alias on dev.gentoo.org If something is not working, feel free to reopen or poke us on IRC. Let's think about that gentoo-x86 access sometime in the future.
Hello, I am taking cla as my new minion to recruit. Reopening this bug. I checked his quizzes, and we discussed them. They look ok to me. He already has access to the artwork staff , now i am re-opening the process for the gentoo-x86 access. He wants to help with the net-irc herd and x86 arch testers team. Thanks,
My quzes are already sent, so looking forward to hearing from you.
I give the x86 stamp of approval on everyones forehead ;)
(In reply to comment #11) > I give the x86 stamp of approval on everyones forehead ;) This is why this bug was going nowhere. It missed the right stamp in the right place. ;o) What you still need to provide: - A more polished ebuild quizz. Many of your answers are very short and leave too much to interpretation. Some are even so short that they miss the actual answer. - Your personal details at the end of the ebuild quizz. I know you must have provided that when you joined as staff, but I wasn't a recruiter back then and we need all this in the same place anyway (should only be a cut and paste for you, though). - You may want to polish your end of mentoring quizz too. It's not needing it as much as the ebuild quizz, but it definitely won't harm. - The list of ebuilds you've already contributed to Gentoo. Either ebuilds written from scratch or the original ebuild and the diff corresponding to your work only. See with your mentor about this list, and have him approve it. No bugzilla queries, please, we can do that... Please send all this to recruiters@. Do not hesitate to contact me directly in case you had any questions. Denis.

No > bugzilla queries, please, we can do that... > Yes, this is very important, cla is already taking care of that. As a side-note, i can say that cla really has a good knowledge about how Gentoo works and has been helping us in the gentoo-guis project with very good results. Regards,

As far as I can tell, cla is finished with his recruitment process...can this bug be closed?
(In reply to comment #15) > As far as I can tell, cla is finished with his recruitment process...can this > bug be closed? Not yet, I haven't had time to write his introduction message yet. I'll get to it as soon as I'm done with some real life stuff. Denis.
Closing this bug, now, as everything should be OK. Denis.
