Hi. Currently the overlay holds app-editors/emacs 21 and -cvs 23. Version 22 of -cvs is a different branch of development and should therefore have its own ebuild for prefix. All versions, including 18, are slotted and can be installed separately on a system, so app-editors/emacs-18 should be present, too. Slotting will be enhanced by an eselect module, currently only to be found in the Emacs overlay. Please also drop keywords.
ppc-macos keywords dropped from emacs-cvs Is emacs-cvs-22.0.* really required? I noted it needs some patch-work. emacs users in prefix seem to be happy with emacs-cvs-23, as it has nice Aqua (OSX Native) support. In prefix I don't maintain all slots, unless necessary for something. That keeps maintenance low. So unless someone needs it, I'd prefer to keep it out. Let me know. eselect-emacs sounds fine to me. eselect should work on Linux, Solaris and Darwin. It has some problems on AIX currently, but I think we'll tackle that.
Ok, if you dropped I am happy...Emacs 23 is very experimental, but 22 will be released soon and development will fasten for 23. Can I drop aqua USE flag for -cvs 22 then in Portage? You will notice when eselect will hit the tree.
if you want to kill the OSX stuff there, then that's fine. I'll keep it enabled in the prefix overlay. I'll wait and see what new versions bring and update accordingly.
