Description Søren Chrestensen 2007-04-03 12:32:54 UTC
When I try to start Xorg, both via gdm on startup, starting gdm myself and running startx, I get a Signal 11. It doesn't give me any (EE)s in the Xorg.log, only (WW)'s that I don't think looks like something making it crash by the looks of the backtrace.

Reproducible: Always

Should have startet gdm to login

Does X work with the nv or vesa video driver?
Comment 5 Søren Chrestensen 2007-05-07 18:47:07 UTC
No neither nv or vesa worked. Same traceback.
Comment 6 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-07 22:43:38 UTC
And have you updated to xorg-x11 7.2 yet? Does that make a difference?
Comment 7 Søren Chrestensen 2007-05-08 12:42:18 UTC
Haven't updated since the flaw. I'll try to get update over the weekend and get back at you.
Comment 8 Søren Chrestensen 2007-06-14 19:30:19 UTC
System updated to 7.2, still no fix.
Comment 9 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-18 01:10:38 UTC
Which version of evdev are you using? Does it help to disable the evdev driver?
Comment 10 Søren Chrestensen 2007-06-18 17:32:22 UTC
After switching from evdev too the older mouse driver, it worked. I tried recompiling evdev, where media-fonts/encodings x11-wm/twm sys-apps/coreutils package net-misc/netkit-rsh and x11-terms/xterm. I believe evdev wasn't updated just recompiled with the version being -1.1.5-r1.

So bug solved.
Comment 11 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-02 05:22:32 UTC
As you say, bug solved.
