Description Sidoine Mosiah PIERREL 2003-03-11 16:02:13 UTC
To compile Gnucash 1.8.2 with libofx, I needed libofx 0.6.2. In order to make it clean, I
modified/created the following files from bugs about Gnucash 1.8.0
Comment 1 Carl Perry (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-17 01:58:18 UTC
There is no ebuild attached to this bug and I have no way to test the ofx interface to see if it works. If someone can generate an ebuild, verify that it works, and post it here. I'll be happy to patch the gnucash ebuild and add this build to the tree.
Comment 2 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-17 06:22:58 UTC
then why do you resolve it 'test-request' ? Anyway, please explain why you are touching this, it is a bug assigned to gnome ...

EBUILD

There is the missing ebuild. It compiles without mistake. I give back my test
asap...

Sorry for closing it, I thought test-request meant someone needed to do more testing before the bug could be resolved completely.

foser: I was modifying the bug because a large number of people have asked me personally if I could help get gnucash 1.8 working in portage. I apologize for any problems, I was just trying to help out. I notcied that gnome had a lot of bugs on it's plate and I've been testing the gnucash 1.8 ebuild for a while now on different machines.
Comment 8 Carl Perry (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-17 17:48:37 UTC
OKay, even thou your ebuild compiles do you have any way to test the OFX interface in gnucash?

Also, we'll need to get approval for the new OFX use flag. Since gnucash is the only thing that will use it, we may just want to make gnucash depend on libofx outright. But, before we do that - I need to know if the OFX interface works when using your ebuild. Let me know...

I've compiled the earlier ebuild bug 15437 for libofx 6.2 and it works fine with 1.8.2
gnucash built against guile 1.6.2 and g-wrap 1.3.4 as I've discussed in bug 17227. I've
used it to import downloaded files from my bank without any problems. It works quite
slick. I used the 'ofx' USE variable as outlined. this earlier ebuild is quite a bit different
from the current one. It depends on a different version of Jade (openSP) and does not
deal with the dtd / doc files but does do man and info files .. I'd think the executable is
probably the same so once the libofx is compiled and installed either way it should work
fine.

a new version of openjade and opensp (along with libofx, openhbci, gnucash) has been committed to portage but package.mask'ed

would you like to test if it works for you?
Comment 11 Bill Gjestvang 2003-04-29 20:41:02 UTC
libofx-0.6.4 with gnucash-1.8.2-r1 fails on ofx import because it can't find the dtd files.

If I manually copy the files
   /usr/share/doc/libofx-0.6.4/ofx160.dtd
   /usr/share/doc/libofx-0.6.4/ofx201.dtd
to /usr/share/libofx/dtd/
it works great.

What's the right way to get those dtd's in the right place?
Comment 12 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-29 21:41:14 UTC
alright. don't know why but the first time i installed libofx, it put it in the right directories. anyway, it is now fixed.
Comment 13 Bill Gjestvang 2003-04-30 12:28:30 UTC
Alastair: The dtd's going into the docs dir doesn't happen unless you redefine the docs directory. Maybe your first install was before that was redefined. Anyway, the current version works well for me.
Comment 14 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-30 18:55:24 UTC
thanks .. that was probably it.
