The symptom is fixed - the bug remains. I see the bug not as the typo, but that the typo is allowed to hit the live tree without a validation step.
Indeed, symptom is fixed. Unfortuantely there is no validator like repoman for ebuilds for profiles and eclass stuff. When you're keen on having the situation improved, the Portage team (and all other devs will) love, if you lend a helping hand.
