Description S 2007-03-30 16:51:22 UTC
On startup when switching the openGl there's an error with the keywords found in the summary. It then asks for a bug report with the output of lspci so it can be fixed.

------------------------------------------------

This happened on a brand new Dell Latitude D620 laptop with the nvidia graphics. Dell lists the graphics chipset as "256MB NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 110M TurboCache™".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put in CD
2. Watch Screen
3. Read error :)

Actual Results:
The error listed.

Expected Results:
No errors.

This was using a 2006.0 install CD. If it's been fixed since then, well my bad but I didn't have a 2006.1 (or later) CD with which to test.

In the install process once in the chrooted environment the nvidia drivers install just fine, and eselect opengl set nvidia functions just fine as well.

I have the same laptop, so I can assure you it'll work on newer versions. I'll leave this open until 2007.0 is released, but just as a point of reference for the future, we're only interested in bugs that are reproducible in the latest release media. We don't go back and fix older media, all we do is make sure to resolve the bugs in the newer media.

Good to hear it's taken care of already, that is precisely why I specified that it was on the old media. Had the error message not stated explicitly to file a bug report I wouldn't have, but hey what can I say I'm a sucker for following directions.

This should be fixed in 2007.0 now.
