INSTEAD-OF releasing a kernel-source tree with unix PTYs enabled, and saying in some separate web-page to disable 'em... ( the install-docs ) Fix it once, at the source, rather than posting a memo hand insisting that countless end-users discover the /need-for/ the fix, and commit it... TIA ( yes I know this means running make menuconfig on the gentoo kernel sources once before posting in the portage-tree ( if I'm saying that right ), but it'd be appreciated in the cleaner system that'd be Gentoo standard, eh? )
we are looking at ways to make the kernel installs easier for new users.
