Description Lucas 2007-03-19 12:59:43 UTC
irssi (0.8.10-r4) won't compile with the newest perl (v5.8.8)

only when i disable perl support in USE flag, i can compile and install irssi.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.perl -v (shows This is perl, v5.8.8 built for i386-linux)
2.# USE="perl" emerge irssi

Actual Results:
source doesn't compile

Expected Results:
source compiles seamlessly ;)

For those who don't need perl support in irssi just type

#USE="-perl" emerge irssi

Maybe we could help you if you actually posted some errors, because it works just fine here.

Sorry, I don't speak much Polish; set your locales to C when reporting bugs; plus attach the build log here after you've done so, as requested by the error message.
Comment 5 Harald van Dijk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-19 22:47:53 UTC
No need to speak Polish...

You need to rebuild your system after changing your CHOST.
