When booting from Gentoo 1.4 rc3 install CD, you have a possibility to select keymap layout for many languages. However if you select "15" (I have finnish keyboard), you get an following error: Keymap selection: 15 ---- Loading 15 keymap loadkmap: This is not a valid binary keymap. ---- Mounting the CD Gentoo starts ok, but after boot I have US keymap(I think) which is obviously wrong for me. I cannot find the finnish keymap file anywhere in the CD and therefore cannot change it right. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot from 1.4rc3 cd. 2. Select finnish keymap (number 15) 3. Try to write something with finnish keyboard. (qwerty) Actual Results: Keymap was US instead of being Finnish. Expected Results: loadkmap should load finnish keymap.
OK, can you help me fix this? If you download the busybox sources and compile them to include the "dumpkmap" app, then you can do a "dumpkmap > 15.kmap" and then attach the keymap here. I can then replace the current keymap (which came from tomsrtbt and I guess is corrupted.) If you can't figure out how to follow these steps, let me know and I'll try to walk you through it.
Created attachment 9361 [details] Finnish keymap file, as you asked. I tried this keymap and it worked well.
