Description Kalle Gustafsson 2003-03-09 06:02:28 UTC
When trying to install Gentoo 1.4 rc3, the kernel loaded right after the boot
screen crashed. I tried to play around with the boot options, but none of them
helped. I figured that the crash maybe had something to do with my Promise
FastTrak TX2000 PCI IDE RAID card since the crash seemed to occur when the
kernel was trying to access the hdg drive.

I removed the card, and then I was able to boot from the CD.

could you try one of the latest livecds at www.gentoo.org/~livewire
at prompt "gentoo ataraid"

is this still an issue, or was it a bugzilla mess up?
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:23:59 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
