Papaya is a multiplatform GTK+2/Gnome2 MUD client. This is the ebuild for Gentoo Linux, which is tested on x86, but should work on other architectures. Version 0.97.20030309 is a nightly CVS build, but is known stable. (Close to a 0.98 release.) It should probably go into the app-games category - there is already one gnome1.x mud client in that category. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

i prefer a real release, not some nightly snapshot. How far is 0.98 off ? About the ebuild a few pointers : * if you do nothing (patching, etc.) in src_unpack, you don't need to put it in * is nls really optional ? * maybe try to use the gnome2 eclass (altough it seems like a gtk+ only app which may be a bit much)
Reasons for wanting 0.97.20030309 ebuild: o 0.98 is three to four months off (I have severe RSI and cannot do much development on it at the moment). o 0.96 is riddled with bugs, many affecting usability, all of which have been fixed since, and are fixed in this version. o I've had requests for a Gentoo ebuild from users, all of whom would prefer a "snapshot" release over the previous stable 0.96. Papaya has no dependencies on Gnome, just GTK+-2.0. NLS really is optional. I've removed the src_unpack() section, and created a new attachment.

is the upstream development still active here ?
This is games, not GNOME, but hasn't been under active development for more than a year. Can you guys close this if you don't want another, undeveloped MUD client, thanks.
Nuke this if you like. I'll put the ebuild up on my own website for my users to get from there.
Sounds good to me.
