ddclient 3.7.1 has been released a while ago.
3.7.0 is the latest unstable in portage. Also 3.7.0 could probably be marked as stable...

Just renaming the ebuild from 3.7.0 to 3.7.1 works. ddclient-reasonable-security.patch is still applied.

See bug #170708 for ddclient-3.7.0 being marked stable.

Yes works perfectly. A warning should be added about checking permissions in:

/etc/ddclient/

to make sure ddclient can read the config file.

Additionally, I think it is a good idea to give a hint, that ddclient.cache has moved.

The ebuild sets it up perfectly fine:
  insopts -m 0640 -o root -g ${PN}

"equery files ddclient" shows that plainly enough. *Every* distro installs files from standard apps in different places, to be consistent within the distro ;)

additional info:

I copied the ddclient-3.7.0.ebuild to overlay and renamed it to
ddclient-3.7.1.ebuild, installed it on:

Wed Mar 14 19:21:36 2007 >>> net-dns/ddclient-3.7.1

Since then it is working flawlessly 24/7 on a line with a 24h lease.

It's time to get it done.

Read comment #5. The ebuilds for 3.7.0 and 3.7.1 are identical.

Please open another bug specific to ddclient with baselayout2, and assign it to maintainer-needed, cc-ing base-system.
