Description mjbjr 2003-03-07 22:28:08 UTC
gentoo 1.4_rc3

during 'shutdown -h now' and 'reboot' I'm seeing the following:

(initial stuff fine) then...

deactivating swap...
Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address00001000
printing eip:

....

Code: ff 0b 0f 94 c0 84 c0 0f84 c3 00 00 00 8d 73 18 39 73 18 74
error: /sbin/rc: line 24: 3370 Segmentation fault swapoff -a >&/dev/null

AFAICT, shutdown continues normally after this.

there are no errors during boot up.

this happens every time.

this doesn't happen under the default kernel, 2.4.20

P4 with 1GB ram, 2GB swap

under both kernels, while running, cat /proc/swaps shows the same info:

ac-sources is not patched nor maintained by gentoo. reports bugs to the linux kernel mailing list.
