first guess is that it needs lua 5.0 instead of 5.1. Try downgrading your lua and see if that fixes it.
I was already using lua 5.0 (5.0.2 to be exact, the latest one marked stable in portage). However, I tried upgrading lua to 5.1 now (5.1.1-r2), and that seems to have fixed it.
Downgrading to lua 5.0.2 made the xmoto configure fail again. So, xmoto requires lua 5.1.1.
No it doesn't. It builds fine here with lua 5.0.2.
Well, it doesn't here, and lua 5.1.1 fixes it. Could be specific to amd64, I guess.
try it without LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed"
Oh wops, I'd forgotten I'd put that there (was just supposed to be for testing something some time ago). Anyway, that works. Sorry =]
not releated to xmoto then and --as-needed is unsupported. marking this one as invalid. thanks for testing.
