Description Aneel 2007-03-12 00:30:37 UTC
AAC decoding no longer works in mplayer-bin-1.0_rc1-r3. It worked before in 1.0_pre8, but the new emul-linux-x86 libraries has made downgrading impossible (pre8 is now blocked).

...
Requested audio codec family [faad] (afm=faad) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Cannot find codec for audio format 0x20434141.
Read DOCS/HTML/en/codecs.html!
...

FAAD can be enabled simply by toggling the "aac" USE flag at build time, yet it seems to have been disabled in the 1.0_rc1-r3 build. What is the problem?

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Aneel 2007-03-14 00:23:15 UTC
Apparently emul-linux-x86-medialibs does not include FAAD libraries, so mplayer-bin does not have AAC support.

So it would seem that medialibs will have to be updated before this issue can be resolved.
