I wanted to emerge kmldonkey to test it. So, I updated the kmldonkey-0.3.ebuild in order to get the file where it is and to compile it. Everything works fine for me... Please find the different files I did... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

FYI: I couldn't download kmldonkey-0.7 using the url you provided. (404...) But this one: http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/kmldonkey/unstable.pkg/0.7/kmldonkey-0.7.tar.gz worked fine for me. (Taken from the download section on the Savannah homepage).
It seems that this also depends on mldonkey to work (i.e. it is a layer on top of it, not a replacement for). This dependency needs to be added (but mldonkey also needs to be updated, which is reported in another bug).
kmldonkey doesn't depend on mldonkey, as the mldonkey program may run on another host (gui and core can communicate over tcp/ip).
been using 0.7 for over 2 weeks now, works fine
Created attachment 10474 [details] almost same ebuild as above, but with some installation comments some echo lines added ...
When I try to emerge this ebuild, I get the following error: " checking for rpath... yes checking for KDE... libraries /usr/kde/3.1/lib, headers /usr/kde/3.1/include checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... configure: error: not found - you need to install kdelibs first. !!! ERROR: net-p2p/kmldonkey-0.7 failed. !!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 118, Exitcode 1 !!! died running ./configure, kde_src_compile:configure " Does anyone by chance know what this message means or how to fix it?
arrgh, forget about my last post. In fact my binary package for kdelibs was also faulty, had to re-emerge kdelibs completely, now kmldonkey did compile without a problem. Well, I have learned something; even if a program does compile without any error-essage (kdelibs), it doesn't mean their aren't any errors.
kmldonkey 0.8 is out since may 10th. Even though the download URL didn't work once the source was in /usr/portage/distfiles it compiles quite nicely.
Version 0.8 has been committed to portage
