How about if you run `eselect opengl set ati` ? :)

No change.

Did you restart X? If yes, then post the output of `eselect opengl list` and attach our xorg.conf here.

NOTE: ati-drivers works fine for 8.33.6-r1 and I downgraded for now, so it shouldn't be a problem with me.

Please try running env-update, source /etc/profile, then LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo. There is a good chance the env-update will fix it. There is a bug in eselect that will cause it to fail if you don't run env-update after an eselect opengl set ati. Bug is fixed in eselect upstream already but it is taking a bit longer than I thought it would for the fix to be pushed out.

Glory hallelujah, it works. Strange, the ebuild says to source /etc/profile only if I'm _newly_ installing the ati-drivers, that it's unneeded if I already had them installed.
