The developers of the Xoops Web CMS strongly advise that users install the 2.0.x branch.  They have abandoned development of the 2.2.x branch for multiple reasons, the least of which is module incompatibility.  The current ebuild uses version 2.2.4.  The current stable build from Xoops is 2.0.16.

2. install a module
3. cry

Actual Results:  
The current ebuild of xoops is unrecommended and incompatible with many modules.

Expected Results:  
The current ebuild of xoops should be the recommended 2.0.x release.

Sorry, but upstream really needs to get their act together then.  I'm inclined to wait for 2.3.
