Even though this isn't really a problem with Gentoo or the Mozilla ebuild, it would be nice if the ebuild would also download the proper fonts, install them, and reconfigure the XFS for you. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to the website above. 2. More information here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/fonts/ 3. and here: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35236 Actual Results: No luck for me, the fonts still aren't registering with Mozilla. Expected Results: Display the expressions correctly. This bug has been open for a long time... Looking at the Mathmatica fonts and the MathType, they appear to have a license that would prevent Gentoo from using them in an ebuild. It looks like the STIX project is almost completed, only 93 glyphs remaining, but who knows how much longer that will actually take... It seems to me that the best we could do for this bug at the moment is: - Create an ebuild for the texcm-ttf fonts - Do whatever work is necessary to make the Symbol stuff work right If somebody is willing to do the above work, then I will consider adding a conditional dependency on a local USE "mathml" in the mozilla ebuild.
I'm assuming nobody is going to do this work. If somebody takes the interest, please feel free to re-open. Resolving wontfix for now.
