Here's a working ebuild file for gjots-0.7. gjots is a hierarchical jot note program for gnome. I would suggest putting it in app-office/gjots.
Created attachment 9020 [details] gjots ebuild file for 0.7 I've attached the ebuild file for 0.7, not the latest (0.8). 0.8 has an annoying bug with flocking the .gjots file. This is something I can only assume the author will fix at some point.
Just wondering if this is going anywhere. Is there a plan to ever accept this ebuild?
we're slightly behind on ebuilds and our first priority now is to squash real bugs for rc4/final, sorry for the inconvenience.
NP, I was just surprised when I couldn't emerge it last night =) BTW: I would actually put it in gnome-office, makes a lot more sense that apps-office.
Created attachment 10479 [details] Ebuild file for 0.9 Not that this bug is being updated, but here's the ebuild file for 0.9
Yet another ping. Will anyone ever answer this bug?
thats a good question ;) we should start catching up on ebuilds. expect a move on it soon. In the mean time could you fix the ebuild a bit. the gtk dep should be =blah* , right now it would use gtk-2. The use switch in src_compile should also force disabling gnome. If gnome is optional, isn't the dependancy as well ? Fix IUSE, gtk isn't a USE flag here . Do not add keywords for untested archs (aka archs you never testbuilt it on) and always start out with ~arch .
Ok, I can fix the ebuild, I'm just a tad lost on how to find out about required versions for this thing. Should I go through the source, or just put my setup in the actual ebuild file? Please let me know and I'll do the right thing!
few places to look for versions, configure.in is a good start. the output of running ./configure can also help. check the README (if there is one), and the project's website as well. after that you should usually have found the versions. in addition, please have a look at foser's list of cleanups, and then we can really look at getting this in.
gjots1 is no longer being developed, and i'd be loathe to add it. The newer version looks like a complete rewrite. If you'd like us to consider adding the new version, please post another bug, as the ebuilds here are unlikely to be usable. Sorry for the delay on this, but if you'd like to see it in portage, please post a bug for gjots2.
