Description Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-06 06:42:47 UTC
I just file this bug, please wait until the 05 Apr to stabilise this. Current stable does not build (and did not for a long time). New, apart from building, is Emacs support, so test that, too, please.

on x86:

sci-mathematics/Macaulay2-0.9.95-r1 USE="-emacs" seems to be fine for me after a first glance; however note

 * QA Notice: Pre-stripped files found:
 * /var/tmp/portage/sci-mathematics/Macaulay2-0.9.95-r1/image/usr/bin/M2
/var/tmp/portage/sci-mathematics/Macaulay2-0.9.95-r1/image/usr/bin/personality

 * QA Notice: Package has poor programming practices which may compile
 * fine but exhibit random runtime failures.
 * LLL.cpp:129: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules

besides, although i'm studying maths, i don't feel really qualified to test this package ;-). nevertheless, this seems to be a very interesting program and i will most likely do some further testing/experimenting with it during march. should i experience any oddities, i'll let you know ...

premature stable, as no newer bugs occured, ATs reported no failures and it seems to work....that are great news in comparison to the old stable version.
