Note that this is on a headless server box with only minimum amount X-related libs installed. On my laptop, all tests pass OK - so it looks like some missing dependency.

I have exactly the same problem on a normal desktop machine.
I'm trying to compile against cairo-1.4.0 and libpng-1.2.16.

In my system log I have the following each time the test fails:
perl5.8.8[10292]: segfault at 0000000000000004 rip 0000003aa7a38fc0 rsp 00007fff2ce6b8a0 error 4

re-emerging perl nor libpng did not help

removing usersandbox or userpriv from FEATURES did not help

/me is struck with memory

You know, we used to disable the tests in this package because of this 'bug' in the tests. I remember Yuval and I talking about it at one point...

Ticho,

I'm going to disable the tests for this package as they seem broken. I've filed a bug upstream on this; however, installings sans tests and then running the examples all worked fine (made pretty png's and *everything* :)

Tests disabled. Despite seg faulting during tests, all of the shipped examples/demos work perfectly.
