Description Patrizio Bassi 2007-03-04 09:37:05 UTC
Using 2.6.19 and 2.6.20 i got vmware not working anymore using gentoo scripts.

modules are not loaded and start script fails.

* Starting VMware services:                                                                                                                                   [ ok ]
 *   Virtual machine monitor                                                                                                                                   [ !! ]
 *   Virtual ethernet                                                                                                                                          [ !! ]
 *   Bridged networking on /dev/vmnet0                                                                                                                         [ !! ]
 *   Host-only networking on /dev/vmnet8 (background)                                                                                                          [ ok ]
 *   NAT service on /dev/vmnet8                                                                                                                                [ !! ]

every time you get asked to reconfigure it again.

in the meanwhile an update to the patch is out, but seems not fixing the problem.

any idea?

What about looking into /var/log/messages and posting some errors? We really cannot guess.
