Every time the notification-daemon is activated, it manages to draw over the gnome-panel. Whilst this isn't critical, it's just plain annoying for the eyes. See the URL for a screenshot. It would seem that my amd64 machine also seems to be affected by this.
what version of GTK+ and gnome-panel are you running? I am unable to reproduce this issue.
I've just upgraded to gnome overlay inorder to see if it might solve my issues, but it doesn't. using: GTK-2.10.11 gnome-panel-2.18.0
