My problem is that when I start a KDE application and try to use the fileselector to load/save files I get a popup winndow with the title "Sorry" and the text "Could not find mime type application/octet-stream" (OK) After I press (OK) I get a new one named "Error" containing the text "No mime types installed!" (OK) After tpressing (OK) the fileselector opends an a new "Error" window pops up with the text "Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'file'. (OK) The will not show any files.... I have emerged kdegraphics but not so many other kde stuff... below is a list that I got with "emerge -s kde" and removed unimportant lines I currently have problem emerging kdebase (another bug report from me) So I dont know if it will solve my problem but I think it will.... ---------- Installed stuff ------------------- * app-doc/kdelibs-apidocs Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * app-i18n/kde-i18n Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * app-i18n/kde-i18n-* Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * dev-util/kdestudio Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * dev-util/kdevelop Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kde Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kde-env Latest version installed: 3-r2 * kde-base/kdeaddons Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdeadmin Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdeartwork Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdebase Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdebindings Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdeedu Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdegames Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdegraphics Latest version installed: 3.1 * kde-base/kdelibs Latest version installed: 3.1-r2 * kde-base/kdemultimedia Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdenetwork Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdepim Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdesdk Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ] * kde-base/kdetoys Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
