Description Thomas Preissler 2003-03-04 11:22:01 UTC
emake must have a "-DTUNTAP". TUN can't be used therefore.

Can you give me some more information, please?

"TUN can't be used therefore." --> for what? I see no TUN in the ebuild.
Comment 2 Thomas Preissler 2003-03-11 16:56:02 UTC
When using UML with TUN-devices, uml_net as contained in the usermode-utilities must have TUNTAP support. TUN-devices are the fastest way to do networking in UML.
When I emerged that ebuild (without -DTUNTAP) I had no network in UML.

So, please add the define, and everyone can use UML with tuntap-support.

Ok, I checked in sys-apps/usermode-utilities-20030205-r1 which should correct this.
Please test and report so that I can unmask it.

with your -r1 TUN/TAP works for me -- should be save to umask.
Comment 5 Michael Imhof (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-12 15:19:18 UTC
Ok, I unmasked it.
Thanks for your help.
