sci-mathematics/fann-2.0.0 compiles and run for me on amd64. There was a few compile warnings on the python part, but upstream mention problems with 2.0 and python and recommends 2.1beta if you use python. So I guess it should not make a different for adding ~amd64 keyword. Let me know if any further info is needed.
