I guess you're not using the ~/.bittorrent dir from another version?

What if you execute the app without any file? And what about using another torrent file?
Comment 12 Herbert Wantesh 2007-02-26 13:22:48 UTC
all the same for every bittorrent file but bittorrent-console is working fine .. dont undestand why bittorrent-curses isnt....
Comment 13 Balint Dobai-Pataky 2007-02-27 06:06:49 UTC
same here,
also upgraded to net-p2p/bittorrent-5.0.5 with -gtk
and there's no X on the machine.
removed the ~/.torrent
net-p2p/bittorrent-4.4.0 worked fine

/usr/bin/launchmany-curses \
    --check_hashes \
    --save_in /opt/torrent/ \
    --parse_dir_interval 5 \
    --saveas_style 2 \
    --torrent_dir /opt/torrent/

gives:

net-p2p/bittorrent-5.0.6
acts the same way.
Comment 15 Balint Dobai-Pataky 2007-02-27 07:25:01 UTC
i have tried net-p2p/bittorrent-5.0.5 on another machine, where there is 2 python versions installed:
dev-lang/python-2.3.5-r3
dev-lang/python-2.4.3-r4

but
 python-config
-lpython2.3 -lm -L/usr/lib/python2.3/config

and bittorrent complains only on exit:
Unhandled exception in thread started by -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error in sys.excepthook:

Original exception was:

but this is another bug

i've also tried
dev-python/twisted-2.0.1
dev-python/twisted-2.2.0
dev-python/twisted-2.5.0

on the first machine, the same luck. :(
on the first machine there is only one python version:
dev-lang/python-2.4.3-r4
and python was upgraded only once, from dev-lang/python-2.4.3-r1

hope it helps

Still ocurring this one? With twisted-web-0.6.0?
Comment 17 Balint Dobai-Pataky 2007-05-01 15:22:05 UTC
yup,
sorry for the late answer:

dev-python/twisted-2.4.0
dev-python/twisted-web-0.6.0
and
net-p2p/bittorrent-5.0.7 -gtk

produces:

Comment 18 Balint Dobai-Pataky 2007-05-01 16:17:40 UTC
hmm, but the combination of
dev-lang/python-2.4.3-r4
dev-python/twisted-2.4.0
dev-python/twisted-2.4.0
dev-python/twisted-web-0.6.0
net-p2p/bittorrent-5.0.5 -gtk
works now as expected.
thanks
