the latest released version of the alsa-xmms output plugin is 0.9.9b, latest in portage is 0.9.7 -- i'd 
attach the ebuild i "wrote" to fix this on my system, except all i did was cp the 0.9.7 ebuild to a 
different named file and generated a digest. since it's all of 2 cmds, i figure some gentoo dev can do 
it, but if you'd like me to attach the ebuild, just lemme know...

The new version is in the CVS now.
