Description Daniel Herzog 2007-02-19 21:12:10 UTC
Assigned to antarus as he agreed this is a solution to not (yet) having a userrel-section.
One bug for several trivial small things - ugly, eh?
---

a) The Gentoo Status project page should be removed (or at least not linked to) as long as the project remains dead

b) Replace:
Larry The Cow: Since the Summer of 2006 User Relations have been providing you with the LTC community projects; these include larrythecow.org; which serves a selection of user blogs (to have your blog included, drop an e-mail to beandog@gentoo.org) and larrythecow.net; which serves more informal community news. Both have so far been a smashing success and we value the feedback these sites provide.

with (suggestion only, of course)

Larry The Cow: Since the summer of 2006 User Relations has been providing you with the LTC community project, which is larrythecow.org. It serves a selection of user blogs (to have your blog included, drop an e-mail to beandog@gentoo.org).
We greatly value the feedback these sites provide.

(summer spelled with lower char, removed larrythecow.net which is dead, removed self-praise)

c) btw - is there nothing like a automated link checker the website project uses? might maybe be a good idea since a) contains two of them - yes, it's dead but anyway.

d) just noticed that: Joshua Jackson search a scanner which Daniel Frey could provide (--> adopt-a-dev page)

e) (off-topic) would be cool to have a small counter box at Gentoo Linux (In)Active Developer List which is manually changed according to how many are currently in the list. Christel? (as he is the roll-coll-guy)

f) removing "User Relations" from http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/index.xml?showlevel=3 as a subproj of devrel as it for long enough isnt anymore, or at least fixing "The User Relations project has moved out of Devrel to become its own TLP, you can find their project page by visiting http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/userrel" to "The User Relations project has moved out of Devrel to become its own Top Level Project."

g) just fix whatever pops up in your mind (if you're supposed to...)

sincerely

h) maybe push the website redesign which stalled by adding someone to the recruitment needs plus putting a project site online stating "this sadly stalled, go here to get an impression: http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/gentoo-projects/www-redesign/www/index.html?rev=1.6"
(afaik quite some users dont know (anymore) this is/was planned)
adding a way users can leave thoughts relevant for the developer who takes this project up again. mine would be "try to optimize the page using http://feng-gui.com/"

I'll try to run linkchecker and post a bug listing all the broken links, maybe.
