Description Bernhard Frauendienst 2007-02-16 21:06:18 UTC
I've successfully built the eclipse-sdk-3.2.1-r2 from the migrated-java-experimental-overlay, but it crashes on startup.

See attached log.

The error occurs regardless of the JVM I'm using.

Here are some sites where the problem is mentioned, hopefully someone can extract more useful information than I do ;)

I've found the ebuild in the overlay to be pretty crashy in general, compared to what is in the tree. I haven't been able to track down what is causing it though.

Indeed it works with =eclipse-sdk-3.2, though any later ebuild gives me the same errors as reported above. What I could gather from the links I posted, it seems that some wrong method signatures are used for 64bit systems.
It's strange that this hasn't been fixed (by upstream, if it's their fault), since the problem seems to exist for two years now (see second url in inital bug description).

old version. has been removed from overlays ages ago.
