Please consider stabilizing sci-mathematics/axiom-3.9-r1 on amd64 and on x86. (a) I have confirmed that the package compiles and works correctly for me on each of amd64 and x86. (b) The only ebuild currently in portage is keyworded "~amd64 ~x86". (c) Said ebuild has been in the tree > 30 days. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: on amd64: Portage 2.1.2-r9 (default-linux/amd64/2006.1/desktop, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.5-r0, 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 x86_64) works here too on a x86 smp system. Before stabilizing please add the following info to the ebuild: * If you want GNU readline support for axiom, use * alias axiom="rlfe -h ~/.axiom.hist axiom -noclef" * in your ~/.bashrc (tip from here: http://wiki.axiom-developer.org/64ClefDoesNotUnderstandEndDeleteEtc, you have rlfe in gentoo after emerging sys-libs/readline). Maybe the ebuild can do this automatically somehow if readline useflag is enabled.
I don't see much point in having a two-year old Axiom in Portage. My recommendation is to put Axiom "Gold" in Portage. The URL is http://wiki.axiom-developer.org/AxiomSources
