Description Flophouse Joe 2007-02-15 22:41:42 UTC
Please consider stabilizing x11-apps/xedit-1.0.2 on AMD64 and on x86.

x11-apps/xedit-1.0.2 compiles and works fine for me on amd64 and on x86. Additionally:
(a) it's been in portage > 30 days
(b) there don't appear to be any stable versions on any arch at the time of this writing:
joe@becky16 ~ $ cd /usr/portage/x11-apps/xedit/
joe@becky16 /usr/portage/x11-apps/xedit $ grep ^KEYWORDS *.ebuild
xedit-1.0.1.ebuild:KEYWORDS="~amd64 ~mips ~ppc ~ppc64 ~sparc ~x86"
xedit-1.0.2.ebuild:KEYWORDS="~amd64 ~mips ~ppc ~ppc64 ~sparc ~x86"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

On AMD64:

Do you actually use this package?

We're trying to get a feel for what X packages people actually use, with the possibility of removing things that no one uses.

Please reopen when you reply to the above comment.

Sorry for the delay in my response; I don't appear to have received an e-mail in association with comment #1.

When I filed this bug originally, I *was* using xedit every day. It is helpful for me to have a quick place to put text, and xedit served that purpose well.

Since that time, however, I have switched from xedit to app-editors/gedit . I have not used xedit in several months.

If no one else is asking for xedit, then I am comfortable with leaving it keyworded ~.
Comment 4 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-07 21:10:33 UTC
OK, I'm going to close pending demand.
