Description Maarten Maathuis 2007-02-15 17:18:07 UTC
A version bump would be appreciated.

Reproducible: Always

The newer versions of the package would probably best be called ion3, rather than ion, to keep with the current trend. If you look in the tree, ion and ion2 are separate packages. I am therefore treating this as a new package and reassigning it to maintainer-wanted.

I personally don't have too much interest in this package, but I am adding mabi to CC because I think he might be interested in it, as he has ion3 ebuilds in his overlay.

See here: http://overlays.gentoo.org/dev/mabi/browser/x11-wm/ion3

Matti, do you have any intentions on possibly maintaining ion3 in the tree in the future?
Comment 2 Santiago M. Mola (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-25 13:31:21 UTC
ion3 was removed from the tree and moved to mabi's overlay because of licensing problems. There was a discussion about it in gentoo-dev mailing list, forums and bug #180495.

So, be careful about bringing it back to portage tree... probably maintainer and ion3's author will have to agree on the way of accomplish new ion3 trademark license.

Oh. I remember that now that you mention it. I'm closing bug WONTFIX for now.
