Description Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-15 12:36:12 UTC
I'm working on it, but things have changed a bit for this release. Please be patient while I get it straightened out.

Comment 2 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-12 01:57:35 UTC
I've added pbbuttonsd-0.8.0 and powerprefs-0.8.0 to CVS, thanks for being patient.

AMD64 and X86, please test pbbuttonsd-0.8.0 and powerprefs-0.8.0 and add your keywords if things work for you. Sorry I had to drop the keyword, but I can't test things here.

You should also consider unmasking the pbbuttonsd and macbook use flags in your profile. You will need a stable version of pbbuttonsd to unmask the use flag since KDE uses it.

Thanks!
Comment 3 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-12 20:19:12 UTC
pbbuttonsd keyworded, USE flags macbook and pbuttonsd unmasked, powerprefs has a sandbox violation for language files.

Of course, sorry. It fails because of setting LINGUAS.

pbbuttonsd USE flag has been masked by Mr_Bones, as it needs pbbuttonsd stable. Come again then, please.
Comment 7 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-13 13:03:34 UTC
Yes, as I said in the request email:
"You will need a stable version of pbbuttonsd to unmask the use flag
since KDE uses it."

I will look into the LINGUAS issue, thanks for providing your emerge --info.
Comment 8 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-15 03:47:34 UTC
Okay, the powerprefs issue should be taken care of now. Please test it again and thanks for testing!

Works fine. And gone for x86
Comment 10 Scott Price 2007-04-03 21:39:27 UTC
pbbuttonsd-0.8.0 works well here on a MacBook Pro 2,2 using amd64. Powerprefs builds fine, but immediately segfaults if I try to run it.
Comment 11 Scott Price 2007-04-03 21:41:33 UTC
Sorry, powerprefs-0.8.0.

I will look into it more if I can to see why it might be segfaulting.
Comment 12 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-04 01:07:36 UTC
Can you provide the output of emerge --info? How about a backtrace from powerprefs?
Comment 13 Scott Price 2007-04-04 03:53:02 UTC
Sorry, I should have put in a better post. I don't know where my brain was.

I will try to compile it with debugging symbols tomorrow to see if that gives any better information.

Meanwhile...

Looks like it crashed in gtk, I'm not sure that's a pbbuttonsd issue. Maybe try a different version of gtk?

2.10.9 was what I was originally on. That is stable amd64. I tried 2.10.11 and got the same result. Tomorrow I will try 2.10.6 and see if that fixes the problem.

Nope. Same problem. I wonder if it is an x86_64 problem with gtk?

Comment 19 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-18 16:49:16 UTC
Seems unlikely, since all my boxes are amd64, and I run Gnome on them all.

That kind of crash is usually a dangling pointer to the widget passed in by the app, in my experience.
Comment 20 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-18 17:24:15 UTC
Daniel, can you reproduce this too?

I retract my statement about gtk too. :) I missed that th_radiobutton is a function in powerprefs. Looking at line 101, it could be a null pointer to the "radiolist" data, but I'm not seeing anything obvious. I'll bug upstream if you can also reproduce this Daniel.
Comment 21 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-18 17:33:04 UTC
No, I haven't tried; all my buttons on my laptop work fine, and I'm leary of trying something like that without breaking things...

I'll build it with my magic cflags and see if there's any obvious 64-bit problems.
Comment 22 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-18 17:43:23 UTC
Nothing really jumped out at me, except for counting down on the size of the GSList but walking up the list...
Comment 23 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-06-16 03:29:41 UTC
I've tried this on an AMD64 machine now and still can't reproduce. Could the AMD64 team take another whack at it, I'd like to close this bug. :)
Comment 24 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2008-08-24 13:33:16 UTC
works w/o problems here, so added ~amd64. closing.
