Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2007-02-14 09:31:09 UTC
With the new baselayout version I get the following message if I shutdown my UML (2.6.18-usermode-r1 and other versions too):

 * Unmounting filesystems ...                                                                                                 [ ok ]
 * Remounting remaining filesystems readonly ...                                                                              [ ok ]
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

In addition the 2 X11-windows for "console 1" and for "console 12" are not closed.

Reproducible: Always

Hhm, the host system itself was upgraded too to this new baselayout version and now the system doesn't halt properly, it hangs with that message ;-)
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-14 10:22:00 UTC
You sure have >=sys-apps/sysvinit-2.86-r6 installed?
Comment 3 Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2007-02-14 10:26:39 UTC
yes, look here :
Wed Feb 14 09:48:10 2007  >>> emerge (3 of 10) sys-apps/sysvinit-2.86-r6 to /
Wed Feb 14 09:48:36 2007  >>> unmerge success: sys-apps/sysvinit-2.86-r5
Wed Feb 14 09:48:36 2007  ::: completed emerge (3 of 10) sys-apps/sysvinit-2.86-r6 to /
Comment 4 Roy Marples (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-14 10:51:09 UTC
Do you have shutdown.sh and reboot.sh in /etc/init.d?
Comment 5 Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2007-02-14 12:21:25 UTC
Argh, sorry for the noise, for some reason neither the script reboot.sh nor shutdown.sh were replaced by the new files.
Now it works :-)
