Description Radoslaw Szkodzinski 2007-02-13 19:01:04 UTC
I've enabled libsamplerate ALSA plugin (from alsa-plugins ebuild) to upgrade weak ALSA linear resampler to something better with this /etc/asound.conf file:
defaults.pcm.rate_converter "samplerate_medium"

Sound works in all applications (aplay, gstreamer: quodlibet) except Flash plugin in Opera.

The problem goes away if I disable the plugin.
I suppose it would happen with any non built-in ALSA plugins.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable any ALSA plugin (e.g. libsamplerate)
2. Enter page with Flash playing sound

Actual Results:
No sound.
Messages in the console:
ALSA lib pcm_rate.c:1325:(snd_pcm_rate_open) Cannot open library for type samplerate_medium

Expected Results:
Play sound correctly.

I've tried adding /usr/lib/alsa-lib to LDPATH to no avail.
Probably either Opera or its launching script override that.

We can't fix neither flash nor Opera, take this upstream.
