x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.33.6-r1 and x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.33.6 crash when logging out when I use an external flatscreen on the DVI port on the ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock connected to my ThinkPad T60 running an amd64 profile. The problem is NOT present with the stable 8.32.5 driver. When I log out, the screen goes black and the attached USB keyboard dies (the leads no longer react to pressing NumLock or CapsLock). If I open the lid and press ctrl-alt-delete, the machine reboots. I have been logged in over the net, nothing is written to /var/log/messages when this happens, nor to Xorg.0.log. When it happens, the X process starts eating 100% CPU time, and cannot be killed even with kill -9. I do not think this is the same as bug 136440, at least the workaround of adding TerminateServer=true to the kdm config file has no effect. Sorry I cannot provide more info, but nothing is printed to the log files. Followup: After downgrading to 8.32.5 I still have this problem, so 8.32.5. *is* affected.

8.433 should fix this
