After emerging lm_sensors-2.7.0, ksysguardd stopped working. It segfaults now. The problem probably makes othes programs compiled for the old /usr/lib/libsensors.so.1 crash too. Please confirm. The solution *may* be to reemerge kdebase after emerging lm_sensors, but I have not tried, kdebase is sooo huge to compile... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge lm_sensors-2.6.5 2. emerge kdebase [ksysguardd works now] 3. emerge lm_sensors-2.7.0 Actual Results: ksysguardd segfaulted. The output: ksysguardd 1.2.0 (c) 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 Chris Schlaeger <cs@kde.org> and (c) 2001 Tobias Koenig <tokoe@kde.org> This program is part of the KDE Project and licensed under the GNU GPL version 2. See http://www.kde.org for details. Segmentation fault
Rebuilding kdebase did the trick here. Alternatively, someone else in the forum remerged lm_semsors 2.65 and got ksysguardd to work again as well. I would reccomend that this little bug and the fact that 2.7 requires gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r1 or a manually patched kernel to build that 2.7 be marked unstable for now.
lm_sensors-2.7.0 marked unstable.
Not a bug really, but we do need to get forced rebuilds working for packages that break backwards compatibility.
fixed for reporter.
