Description Naresh V 2007-02-12 19:30:33 UTC
I'm running a 64-bit gentoo and have both mozilla-firefox (64-bit) and mozilla-firefox-bin (32-bit) installed.
I tried out the indic fonts from http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157332 and saw that it worked only on my 64-bit firefox and everything else except *-bin type apps.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install indic fonts from http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Lohit
2. open kn.wikipedia.org in firefox-bin
3. open kn.wikipedia.org in firefox

You'll need to take this up with the Mozilla Corporation, as our -bin packages come from them.

Yep, I chatted with a few foxes on #Firefox@irc.mozilla.com

<Gankutsuou> pango, indic, help
<werwolf> Gankutsuou: your question?
<cf> Gankutsuou: problem, state, in, full, senteneces, please
<Gankutsuou> the binary mozilla.com provides
<Gankutsuou> firefox one
<Gankutsuou> for linux
<Gankutsuou> doesn't render indic fonts the way it's supposed to be rendering
<cf> Gankutsuou: yes, that's a known issue
<Gankutsuou> how long are we supposed to keep compiling our own firefoxes?
<cf> Gankutsuou: have you tried 2.0a2 ?
<cf> oops, 3.0a2
<Gankutsuou> nope :|
<Gankutsuou> worth a shot?
<dveditz> Hero: we need the one and only registr-Y- to agree, not each registrar.
<firebot> Firefox: 'Linux fxdbug-linux-tbox Depend' has changed state from Test Failed to Success.
<cf> Gankutsuou: yep, Mozilla.com compiles it with pango and Cairo by default

So.. looking forward to Firefox3 :)
