Description Harlan Lieberman-Berg (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-10 00:44:09 UTC
Alsa-driver 1.0.13's hda_intel refuses to function, the first quarter second of whatever track played skipping constantly. Removing the modules and reinserting them will cause complete system lockup (sysrq will not shutdown system).

Alsa-driver 1.0.14_rc1's hda_intel works, but mute on master does has no effect on sound whatsoever, and there is no headphone controls.

In-kernel hda_intel works, but there are no headphone controls.

Please report the issue upstream. HDA driver is probably the worst one you can find in ALSA (maybe because it's new, maybe just because it was written poorly to begin with).
