I hereby request a new branch to be added to the Portage tree. Portage is great for designing a new system for whatever the purposes, but many purposes are common, and Portage comes ready for a solution. Adding a branch, I suggest to be called "layouts," will solve this problem. In this branch such packages such as layouts/lamp, layouts/development, layouts/gaming, layouts/graphic_design, etc., would make it a snap to just emerge the goal system and leaves the user, whom might be new and not know about all the packages he or she might enjoy or need. Such packages would be basically empty install scripts that depend on the applications that would be typically requested by a user wanting such. Reproducible: Always
