Description Michael Laß 2007-02-09 11:41:09 UTC
When I try to start my wlan-device (Intel ipw2200), I get error messages or kernel-panic.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.install ieee80211-1.2.16
2.reboot
3.start the wlan-device

Actual Results:
/lib/rcscripts/sh/rc-daemon.sh: line 229: 6241 Speicherzugriffsfehler /sbin/st
art-stop-daemon '--start' '--exec' '/sbin/wpa_supplicant' '--pidfile' '/var/run/
wpa_supplicant-eth2.pid' '--' '-Dwext' '-c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.con
f' '-W' '-B' '-ieth2' '-P/var/run/wpa_supplicant-eth2.pid'

Expected Results:
Don't hang my system.

This is not because a broken wpa_supplicant. If I don't start it but another network-service like dhcpcd, I also get errors or a kernel-panic.

I've got the problem only with version 1.2.16 of ieee80211. 1.2.15 works very well.

Here some information about the packages:
[ebuild R ] net-wireless/ieee80211-1.2.16 USE="-debug" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] net-wireless/ipw2200-1.2.0 USE="-debug" 0 kB

And here some information about my system:

net-wireless/ipw2200 is package.masked pending removal. Feel free to reopen if you can reproduce w/ in-kernel drivers
